As we sat in our first Wider Curriculum lecture of year 3, a sense of fear washed over the group. It was time for the projects to be revealed. We did not know what to expect and all secretly hoping for a good project with a budget that would support us in creating and making a real change. As the first projects were revealed we hoped it wouldn't be too long a wait to find out what challenges we would be faced with. As the fourth project appeared on the screen we were shown an image of the grounds at Chichester Pupil Referral Unit and it was explained of how they wanted to turn their outdoor space into an outdoor classroom that the children could use on a regular basis. Silence fell across the lecture hall as the name of the group was revealed ... it was us. A sense of trepidation washed over us, how are we going to create an outdoor classroom? After a few minutes of processing the project we decided to head straight to Pintrest to get ideas flowing. As we started to see all the possibilities we started to feel excited about what we might create and how we could make a real change for the children. Once we were out of the lecture we headed straight to the library where we composed an email to hopefully visit the school. We are now looking forward to visiting the school and the area that we will be working on. As well as finding out what they are expecting of us.
